Pari passu é uma frase em Latim que significa "mão-em-mão" ou "na mesma altura"/"ao mesmo tempo", e por extensão também "de forma justa", "sem parcialidade".
Em finanças este termo refere-se a um ou mais empréstimos, obrigações ou séries de acções preferenciais com iguais direitos de pagamento, ou seja, tendo o mesmo nível de senioridade. Para firmas de gestão de activos, o termo significa uma alocação justa de trades para fundos ou contas geridas idênticas.
Este termo também é muitas vezes usado em procedimentos de falência onde os credores é dito serem pagos 'pari passu', ou seja, cada credor é pago "pro rata" (proporcionalmente) ao valor que lhe é devido. Aqui o significado é "igualmente e sem preferência".
O dicionário legal Black's (8th ed. 2004) define "pari passu" como "proporcionalmente; a um ritmo igual; sem preferência".
